Caine Prize 2016 Readings and Public Events

 

Tuesday 28 June, SOAS Khalili Lecture Theatre, 18.00 – 20.00

An evening to present and converse with the shortlisted authors of the 2016 Caine Prize for African Writing. This informal panel discussion will start at 6pm, and will be chaired by Dr Gus Casely-Hayford from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. The authors will talk about themselves, their work and what inspires them.

A panel event featuring authors from the Caine Prize shortlist, including short readings from this year’s books. The session will be chaired by Vimbai Shire, Acting Director of the Caine Prize for African Writing.

A relaxed evening with the nominees of the 2016 Caine Prize chaired by Lizzy Attree. Each author will read a short extract from their work, after which there will be an opportunity to meet them over a glass of complimentary wine and canapés.
